International Coordinator



General Position Summary

Incumbent is responsible for the successful orchestration of all elements of an international door to door relocation to include customer service to clients and shippers, selection and coordination of transportation, and the overall financial profitability.  Incumbent must demonstrate a positive team spirit, a willingness to improve job related skills and be responsive to direction and constructive criticism.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct International Relocations in Accordance with Applicable International Import or Export Relocation Checklist.
  • Provide a High Level of Customer Service.
    • Present positive attitude on the phone – never communicate internal problems or make negative comments.
    • Counsel shippers on all aspects of the international relocation process, customs/ immigration requirements, insurance (if applicable) and the company relocation policy.
    • Maintain constant liaison with shipper, display a strong sense of urgency and respond quickly to inquiries.
    • Maintain timely professional contact with account representatives.
    • Document all actions and conversations in the memo pad.
  • Prepare Estimates and Quotes Utilizing the UniGroup Worldwide Pricing System.
    • Negotiate favorable rates for origin and destination services.
    • Select best routing considering cost, time and clients’ desires.
  • Traffic Shipments Utilizing the UniGroup Worldwide Trafficking System.
    • Coordinate the services of all agents, trucking companies, steamship companies, port brokers and service providers to assure a smooth transit.
    • Anticipate and resolve problems.
    • Maintain detailed notes of conversations and actions in memo pad.
    • Complete all Move Management and UniGroup Worldwide workflow activities in a timely manner.
    • Advise supervisor when unable to complete daily activities.
  • Prepare Folders for Invoicing.
    • Collect all required documentation.
    • Update financial information in the trafficking system and memo pad.
  • Other Duties.
    • Prepare paperwork for local crews.
    • Maintain and monitor voice mail and email systems.
    • Assist other coordinators with group telephone coverage.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum: 2 years experience in customer service position.
  • Desired: Bachelor Degree + 2 years moving industry experience.
  • Desired: Foreign Language proficiency.


Position Environment

  • Full time position (40 hrs./week; Some Saturday Mornings).
  • Demanding fast paced work environment.
  • Team Environment.
  • Domestic travel – possible.
  • Limited client/vendor entertainment.
